Product Safety & Use Disclaimer – Purrbobbin Co.

Effective Date: September 6, 2026

At Purrbobbin Co., we make handmade cat toys and accessories intended to provide enrichment, play, and enjoyment for pets.

Pet safety is important to us. However, no pet toy is indestructible, and no toy can be guaranteed to be appropriate or safe for every individual animal under every circumstance.

Cats vary considerably in size, age, strength, health, temperament, chewing habits, clawing behavior, play style, and ability to damage or dismantle toys.

For these reasons, every Purrbobbin Co. toy must be used responsibly, inspected regularly, and removed from a pet when it becomes damaged, excessively worn, or otherwise unsafe.

This Product Safety & Use Disclaimer explains important information regarding the selection, supervision, inspection, maintenance, use, and disposal of Purrbobbin Co. pet products.

By purchasing, providing, or allowing an animal to use a Purrbobbin Co. product, you acknowledge the responsibilities and safety information described below.

Important Safety Notice

Purrbobbin Co. pet toys are intended for supervised pet play.

No pet toy is indestructible.

Inspect every toy before each use and regularly during use.

Immediately take the toy away from your pet if it becomes:

  • Torn

  • Punctured

  • Ripped

  • Frayed

  • Open at a seam

  • Excessively chewed

  • Missing fabric

  • Missing thread or stitching

  • Damaged around an edge or seam

  • Loose or misshapen in a way that exposes internal materials

  • Damaged enough that stuffing, bells, crinkle material, catnip, thread, fabric pieces, or any other internal component may become accessible

Do not allow a pet to continue playing with a damaged toy.

If any internal component becomes exposed, discontinue use immediately and permanently unless the product can be safely repaired so that the internal material is once again fully enclosed and secure.

When in doubt, discard the toy and replace it.

The cost of replacing a toy is small compared with the potential risk created by allowing an animal to continue playing with a damaged product.

Adult Supervision Required

Purrbobbin Co. pet toys should be used under appropriate adult supervision.

Supervision means more than simply giving the toy to a pet while a person happens to be somewhere in the home.

The person responsible for the animal should periodically observe the animal's interaction with the toy and be prepared to remove the product if unsafe behavior or product damage occurs.

Particular attention should be given to animals that:

  • Chew aggressively

  • Attempt to tear toys apart

  • Bite repeatedly at seams

  • Pull fabric with their teeth

  • Pick at stitching

  • Attempt to eat fabric

  • Attempt to swallow non-food objects

  • Destroy toys quickly

  • Become unusually excited or rough during play

  • Have previously swallowed or attempted to swallow parts of toys or household objects

A Purrbobbin Co. toy should not be left with an animal that is known to dismantle or consume toys unless the owner is actively supervising the animal.

You Know Your Pet Best

Pet owners and caregivers are responsible for deciding whether a particular toy is appropriate for the individual animal using it.

A toy that is suitable for one cat may not be appropriate for another.

Before giving a Purrbobbin Co. product to your pet, consider factors such as:

  • Your pet's size

  • Age

  • Strength

  • Dental condition

  • Medical history

  • Chewing behavior

  • Clawing behavior

  • Typical play style

  • History of destroying toys

  • History of swallowing foreign objects

  • Tendency to eat fabric, string, stuffing, or other non-food materials

  • Ability to open or tear seams

  • Any advice previously provided by your veterinarian

If you are unsure whether a product is appropriate for your animal, consult your veterinarian before allowing your pet to use it.

Purrbobbin Toys Are Not Indestructible

Purrbobbin Co. products are handmade pet toys.

They are not chew-proof, tear-proof, puncture-proof, claw-proof, or indestructible.

Cats have sharp teeth and claws and may be capable of damaging fabric and stitching even during ordinary play.

Some animals may destroy a toy very quickly.

Others may use the same type of toy for an extended period without significant damage.

The length of time a toy lasts is not guaranteed.

Damage caused through normal or aggressive pet play does not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect.

Inspect Before Every Use

Before allowing your pet to play with a Purrbobbin Co. toy, examine the entire product.

Check:

  • All seams

  • Stitching

  • Corners

  • Edges

  • Fabric surfaces

  • Areas the pet frequently bites or kicks

  • Areas showing claw marks

  • Any area that appears stretched

  • Any area that appears thinner than it was originally

  • Any puncture or hole

  • Any loose thread

  • Any exposed stuffing or internal material

Gently examine the toy to determine whether seams remain secure.

Do not give a damaged toy back to your pet merely because the opening appears small.

A small opening may become larger during continued play.

Continue Inspecting During the Life of the Toy

Inspection is not a one-time activity.

Pet toys experience wear as they are bitten, clawed, kicked, carried, pounced on, tossed, dragged, licked, and played with.

The condition of a toy can change over time.

Owners should continue inspecting toys throughout their usable life.

The more aggressively an animal plays with a toy, the more frequently that toy should be inspected.

Open, Torn, or Damaged Toys Must Be Removed

If a seam opens, fabric tears, or an internal component becomes accessible, take the toy away immediately.

Do not allow the animal to continue playing with the toy because the pet “hasn't eaten anything yet.”

Do not assume that an animal will ignore exposed stuffing, bells, crinkle material, thread, catnip, or pieces of fabric.

Do not assume that an internal component is too large, too uninteresting, or too difficult for your pet to swallow.

Once a toy has opened, the safety conditions of the product have changed.

Remove it.

Internal Components

Depending on the product and options selected, Purrbobbin Co. toys may contain materials including:

  • Stuffing

  • Catnip

  • Crinkle material

  • Bells

  • Fabric

  • Thread

  • Other enclosed toy components identified in the applicable product listing

These materials are intended to remain inside the toy unless a product description specifically states otherwise.

Internal toy components are not intended to be eaten.

If an internal component becomes exposed or comes out of the toy, take both the toy and the loose component away from the animal immediately.

Bell Safety

Some Purrbobbin Co. products may contain an internal bell when the bell option is selected or when a bell is identified as part of the product.

The bell is intended to remain enclosed inside the toy.

It is not intended to be chewed, licked, carried independently, or swallowed by an animal.

If a toy containing a bell becomes torn, punctured, opened, or damaged in a way that could allow the bell to become accessible, immediately remove the toy from the pet.

Do not continue using a bell-containing toy after the internal bell can be seen, touched, reached, or removed by the animal.

If the bell comes out of the toy:

  • Remove the bell from the animal's environment immediately.

  • Remove the damaged toy.

  • Check the surrounding area for any other loose materials.

  • Do not allow the pet to continue playing with either the toy or the bell.

If you know or reasonably suspect that your pet has swallowed a bell or any other foreign object, contact a veterinarian or emergency veterinary provider promptly.

Do not wait for symptoms to appear before seeking professional guidance if you reasonably believe a foreign object has been swallowed.

Crinkle Material

Certain Purrbobbin Co. products may contain enclosed crinkle material designed to produce sound during play.

Crinkle material is intended to remain inside the toy.

It is not intended to be eaten or played with independently.

If the exterior fabric or seam becomes damaged and the crinkle material becomes accessible, discontinue use immediately and remove the toy from the pet.

If loose crinkle material comes out of the toy, remove all accessible pieces from the pet's environment.

Stuffing

Some Purrbobbin Co. products contain stuffing.

Stuffing is intended to remain securely enclosed inside the toy.

Stuffing is not food and is not intended for ingestion.

If stuffing becomes visible or accessible:

Take the toy away immediately.

Do not simply push exposed stuffing back into the toy and return it to the pet without first ensuring that the damaged area has been completely and securely repaired.

If a secure repair cannot be made, discard the toy.

Thread and Stitching

Thread is necessary to construct sewn products, but loose or exposed thread should not be treated as a play feature.

If stitching becomes loose or a length of thread becomes accessible:

Immediately remove the toy from the animal.

Do not allow a cat to chew, pull, swallow, or play with loose thread.

Do not intentionally attach additional strings, yarn, ribbons, cords, thread, or similar materials to a Purrbobbin Co. toy unless the resulting product is being used under appropriate supervision and you understand the associated risks.

If a loose thread is noticed before it has affected the structural integrity of the toy, it may be trimmed or repaired by a responsible adult, provided the toy remains completely secure afterward.

If a seam has opened or structural stitching has failed, discontinue use until the toy has been securely repaired or discarded.

Fabric Pieces and Fraying

The exterior fabric of a toy may become worn through scratching, chewing, kicking, or repeated play.

If fabric begins to shred, fray substantially, tear into pieces, or become loose enough for the animal to pull pieces away, the toy should be removed.

Fabric is not intended for ingestion.

Do not permit a pet to intentionally chew off or consume pieces of a toy.

Catnip

Certain Purrbobbin Co. products may contain catnip when selected by the customer or identified in the applicable product listing.

Cats may respond differently to catnip.

Some cats may show significant excitement or energetic play.

Others may show a mild response or no noticeable response.

Purrbobbin Co. does not guarantee that an individual animal will respond to or enjoy catnip.

Owners should supervise their pet's response to catnip-containing toys and discontinue use if the animal exhibits behavior that the owner considers unsafe or inappropriate.

If a veterinarian has instructed you not to provide catnip to your pet, do not give that animal a catnip-containing product.

When purchasing a product with selectable catnip options, the customer is responsible for selecting the option appropriate for their household and animal.

Catnip Does Not Make the Entire Toy Edible

The presence of catnip inside a product does not mean the toy itself is edible.

Fabric, thread, stuffing, bells, crinkle material, and other components should not be consumed.

If a cat tears open a catnip toy while attempting to reach the catnip, take the product away immediately.

Do not allow the animal to continue pulling materials out of the toy.

Aggressive Chewers and Destructive Players

Some cats chew or destroy pet products aggressively.

Purrbobbin Co. toys may not be suitable for every aggressive chewer or destructive animal.

If your pet routinely:

  • Tears fabric toys open

  • Bites through seams

  • Eats stuffing

  • Pulls apart plush toys

  • Swallows pieces of fabric

  • Destroys pet toys rapidly

  • Attempts to consume toy components

you should exercise heightened supervision and determine whether a soft fabric toy is appropriate for that animal.

If your pet destroys a Purrbobbin Co. toy, discontinue use.

Do not repeatedly return a damaged toy to an animal that is actively attempting to dismantle it.

Kicking, Biting, and Clawing

Cat kickers are specifically intended to encourage common feline play behavior such as grabbing, kicking, wrestling, pouncing, biting, and clawing.

These behaviors naturally place stress on the fabric and seams of a toy.

A product being designed for kicking and wrestling does not mean it cannot be damaged.

Owners should inspect kickers frequently, particularly around seams and areas repeatedly gripped by the animal.

Pets That Eat Non-Food Objects

If your cat has a known history of eating non-food items, fabric, string, yarn, thread, plastic, stuffing, or parts of toys, use heightened caution.

A soft fabric toy may not be appropriate for an animal that consistently attempts to consume fabric or toy components.

Discuss this behavior with your veterinarian and follow your veterinarian's recommendations.

Multi-Pet Households

In homes with more than one pet, consider the behavior of all animals that may have access to the product, not only the pet for whom it was purchased.

A toy purchased for a cat may be accessible to:

  • Another cat

  • A dog

  • A puppy

  • A kitten

  • Another household animal

An item appropriate for one animal may be inappropriate for another.

Dogs, particularly strong chewers, may damage a fabric cat toy differently or more quickly than the cat for whom the product was purchased.

Store Purrbobbin Co. toys away from animals for whom the product is not appropriate.

Dogs and Other Animals

Unless expressly stated otherwise, products identified as cat toys are designed with cats in mind.

Purrbobbin Co. does not represent that a cat toy is appropriate for dogs or other species.

A dog may possess substantially greater jaw strength or a different chewing style than a cat and may damage a cat toy very quickly.

If you allow another type of animal to interact with a product designed for cats, you assume responsibility for determining whether that use is appropriate.

Kittens

Kittens may play enthusiastically and may explore objects with their mouths.

Choose toys appropriate for the individual kitten's size, development, and behavior.

Supervise kittens carefully.

If a product appears too large, too small, too heavy, damaged, or otherwise inappropriate for a particular kitten, do not allow the kitten to use it.

Senior Cats and Cats With Medical Conditions

Older cats or animals with dental, mobility, neurological, digestive, respiratory, behavioral, or other health concerns may have different needs.

Purrbobbin Co. does not provide veterinary advice and cannot determine whether a particular product is medically appropriate for an individual animal.

Consult your veterinarian if you have questions regarding a pet's ability to safely use a particular type of toy.

Size and Swallowing Risk

Never give a pet an item that the owner believes the animal may be capable of swallowing whole.

Owners are responsible for determining whether a particular product is appropriately sized for their individual pet.

If a product has become damaged and a smaller piece separates from it, remove the separated piece immediately.

Foreign Object Ingestion

If you know or reasonably suspect that your animal has swallowed any part of a toy or any non-food material, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary provider for guidance.

Examples include:

  • Bells

  • Thread

  • Fabric

  • Stuffing

  • Crinkle material

  • Pieces of a toy

  • Packaging material

  • Any other non-food object

Purrbobbin Co. cannot diagnose an animal, determine whether an ingested object will pass safely, or provide veterinary treatment recommendations.

Do not rely on Purrbobbin Co. customer service for medical advice.

Contact an appropriate veterinary professional.

Veterinary Emergencies

If your pet is experiencing an apparent medical emergency, seek emergency veterinary care.

Purrbobbin Co. customer service is not an emergency veterinary service.

Do not delay contacting a veterinarian while waiting for a response from Purrbobbin Co.

Questions about an order, product construction, or product components may be directed to us, but medical decisions must be made by the animal's owner in consultation with a qualified veterinary professional.

Packaging Is Not a Pet Toy

Shipping boxes, mailers, plastic bags, tape, labels, tags, fasteners, inserts, cards, tissue paper, packaging fibers, and other packaging materials are not part of the pet toy unless expressly stated otherwise.

Remove all packaging before giving a product to an animal.

Keep plastic bags and other potentially hazardous packaging materials away from pets and children.

Do not allow pets to chew or ingest packaging.

Tags and Product Cards

Remove any product tag, price tag, hang tag, attachment, card, fastener, packaging tie, or similar non-toy material before allowing your pet to play with the product unless the product instructions specifically state otherwise.

The product should be separated completely from its retail and shipping packaging before use.

Not a Children's Toy

Purrbobbin Co. cat toys and pet products are designed and sold for animal use.

They are not children's toys.

Products may contain internal components such as:

  • Bells

  • Stuffing

  • Crinkle material

  • Catnip

  • Thread

  • Other pet-product materials

Do not give Purrbobbin Co. pet toys to babies or children as toys.

Keep pet toys and loose components away from children when appropriate.

Adults are responsible for determining whether pet products are stored and used safely within households containing children.

Handmade Construction

Purrbobbin Co. products are individually handmade.

Minor variations may occur in:

  • Stitching

  • Shape

  • Dimensions

  • Stuffing distribution

  • Fabric placement

  • Pattern positioning

  • Seam placement

  • Overall appearance

These normal handmade variations do not by themselves make a product unsafe or defective.

However, customers should inspect every product when it arrives.

If you believe a new, unused product arrived with an open seam, significant construction problem, exposed internal component, or other condition that may affect safety, do not give the product to your pet.

Contact Purrbobbin Co. before use.

Inspect Your Order When It Arrives

Before first use:

  1. Remove the product from all packaging.

  2. Remove any tags or packaging attachments that are not intended to remain on the toy.

  3. Inspect the fabric.

  4. Inspect every seam.

  5. Confirm that internal materials are fully enclosed.

  6. Confirm that there are no unexpected loose threads or loose components.

  7. Confirm that the toy appears appropriate for your pet.

  8. Do not use the product if you believe it has been damaged during shipping or has a construction problem that could affect safety.

Contact us at legal@purrbobbin.com if you believe you received a damaged or defective product.

Normal Wear and Tear

Pet toys are subject to wear.

Normal wear may include:

  • Tooth marks

  • Claw marks

  • Surface abrasion

  • Compression of stuffing

  • Changes in shape

  • Minor cosmetic wear

  • Fading

  • Saliva staining

  • Catnip scent reduction

  • General evidence of play

Normal wear does not necessarily mean a product is defective.

However, even normal wear can eventually make a toy unsuitable for continued use.

The owner is responsible for deciding when a toy has reached the end of its useful life.

When the structural integrity of the toy begins to deteriorate, discard or safely replace it.

There Is No Guaranteed Lifespan

Purrbobbin Co. does not guarantee that a toy will last for a particular number of days, weeks, months, play sessions, or hours.

Toy lifespan depends heavily on the individual animal and how the product is used.

A toy destroyed quickly by an unusually aggressive or destructive animal is not necessarily defective.

Repairing a Toy

A responsible adult may choose to repair a damaged fabric toy.

However, any repair should completely restore the integrity of the exterior and prevent the animal from accessing internal components.

Do not use:

  • Safety pins

  • Staples

  • Straight pins

  • Exposed wire

  • Loose tape

  • Easily removable fasteners

  • Other repair materials that could create an additional hazard

Never return a repaired product to a pet while a sewing needle, pin, or other repair tool remains attached to or inside the product.

After repairing a toy, inspect it carefully before returning it to the animal.

If you are not confident that the product can be securely repaired, discard it.

Cleaning

Follow any care instructions provided with the individual product.

Cleaning methods can affect fabric, stitching, stuffing, bells, crinkle materials, catnip, or other internal components.

Do not use a cleaning method that damages the product or leaves harmful residues.

After cleaning, allow the product to dry fully as appropriate and inspect the toy before returning it to the animal.

If washing or cleaning causes seams to weaken, fabric to tear, internal materials to shift in a concerning manner, or components to become exposed, discontinue use.

Water and Moisture

Do not allow a toy to remain wet or excessively damp for prolonged periods.

If a product becomes wet, allow it to dry appropriately before returning it to the animal.

Inspect the toy after drying.

Discard the product if moisture has caused deterioration, odor, contamination, material damage, or other conditions that make continued use inappropriate.

Storage

When not in use, store Purrbobbin Co. toys in a location appropriate for the household.

Storage may be particularly important when:

  • The pet destroys toys without supervision

  • Another household pet should not have access to the product

  • The product contains catnip

  • A child may access the product

  • A damaged toy is awaiting repair or disposal

A toy that has been removed because it is unsafe should not be left where the pet can retrieve it.

Alterations and Modifications

Purrbobbin Co. cannot evaluate or assume responsibility for customer modifications made after purchase.

Modifications may change how a product performs or create new hazards.

Examples include:

  • Adding string

  • Adding ribbon

  • Adding feathers

  • Adding beads

  • Adding bells

  • Adding buttons

  • Adding charms

  • Adding elastic

  • Removing stitching

  • Cutting the toy

  • Changing stuffing

  • Adding substances or scents

  • Attaching the toy to another object

If you modify a product, you are responsible for evaluating the safety of the modified item.

Do Not Add Loose Decorative Items

Do not attach small decorative components to a Purrbobbin Co. toy and then allow a pet to play with the altered product without considering whether those materials may detach.

Small or loose additions may create hazards not present in the original product.

Intended Use

Purrbobbin Co. pet toys are intended for ordinary interactive or independent pet play appropriate to the product.

They are not intended for:

  • Human use

  • Children's play

  • Consumption

  • Veterinary treatment

  • Restraint

  • Climbing

  • Supporting an animal's body weight

  • Use as a leash or harness

  • Use as protective equipment

  • Use as a medical device

  • Use for purposes substantially different from the intended pet-play function

Do Not Use Damaged Products

A damaged product should not be kept in active use because it is a favorite toy, because the pet protests when it is removed, or because the owner believes the animal is unlikely to swallow anything.

If damage creates access to internal material or loose components, the product must be taken away.

Replacement Is Part of Responsible Pet Ownership

Pet toys do not last forever.

Replacing worn or damaged toys is a normal part of responsible use.

Purrbobbin Co. encourages customers to routinely evaluate the toys available to their animals and retire products that are no longer in safe condition.

Gifting Purrbobbin Products

If you give a Purrbobbin Co. product to another person or household, please provide the recipient with any safety warnings, product information, and care instructions that accompanied the product.

The person who ultimately supervises the animal should understand:

  • That the product is a pet toy

  • Whether it contains a bell

  • Whether it contains catnip

  • Whether it contains crinkle material

  • That the product must be inspected

  • That damaged toys must be removed

  • That internal components should not be ingested

A gift recipient may not have seen the original online product listing.

Do not assume they already know this information.

Resale and Transfer

If a Purrbobbin Co. product is resold, donated, transferred, or otherwise provided to another person, Purrbobbin Co. cannot control whether the original safety information remains with the product.

Anyone transferring a product to another household is encouraged to provide the recipient with applicable safety information and disclose known damage or wear.

Do not transfer a damaged or unsafe pet toy to another owner for pet use.

Product Photographs Do Not Replace Safety Inspection

Website photographs show the general appearance of products.

A photograph cannot tell you whether the specific product currently in your possession has become damaged after days, weeks, or months of use.

The current physical condition of the product is what matters.

Inspect the toy in your possession.

Product Descriptions and Options

Read the applicable product listing before purchasing.

Listings may identify product features such as:

  • Catnip

  • Bells

  • Crinkle

  • Fabric choices

  • Dimensions

  • Materials

  • Other characteristics

Customers are responsible for considering those features when selecting a product for their household.

Allergies, Sensitivities, and Individual Reactions

Animals may have individual sensitivities or medical considerations that Purrbobbin Co. cannot predict.

If your pet has known allergies, sensitivities, respiratory issues, dietary restrictions, behavioral concerns, or other health conditions that may affect product suitability, consult your veterinarian before use.

Discontinue use if you observe a reaction or behavior that concerns you and seek veterinary guidance when appropriate.

Purrbobbin Co. Does Not Provide Veterinary Advice

Information provided by Purrbobbin Co. is general product safety information.

It is not veterinary advice.

Nothing on www.purrbobbin.com, in a product listing, product insert, email, customer service message, policy, social media post, or other Purrbobbin Co. communication should be interpreted as diagnosis, treatment, prevention, or individualized veterinary guidance.

Questions about your pet's health should be directed to a qualified veterinarian.

Customer Responsibility

The purchaser, pet owner, caregiver, or other person responsible for the animal is responsible for:

  • Selecting an appropriate toy

  • Reading available product information

  • Removing packaging before use

  • Supervising play

  • Monitoring the animal's behavior

  • Inspecting products before use

  • Inspecting products regularly during their usable life

  • Removing damaged products

  • Preventing access to exposed internal components

  • Preventing pets from swallowing toy materials

  • Storing toys appropriately

  • Seeking veterinary care when ingestion or injury is suspected

  • Following veterinary advice relating to the individual animal

Manufacturing Defects Versus Damage From Use

A manufacturing or construction defect is different from damage caused after a pet begins playing with a product.

Examples of circumstances that may indicate a potential construction issue in a new product include:

  • An open seam upon arrival

  • Exposed stuffing upon arrival

  • An internal component outside the toy upon arrival

  • A major area of stitching missing before use

  • Significant damage caused during shipment

Examples of ordinary use-related damage may include:

  • Claw punctures

  • Bite holes

  • Chewed fabric

  • Pulled threads caused during play

  • Fabric worn through through repeated use

  • Seams damaged by aggressive pulling or chewing

  • Tears caused during play

  • Damage caused by another household animal

If you believe a product arrived defective, do not allow your pet to use it. Contact Purrbobbin Co.

Stop Using a Toy Before It Completely Fails

Customers should not wait until a toy has completely fallen apart before retiring it.

Signs that a product may be approaching the end of its useful life include:

  • Increasingly loose stitching

  • Repeated seam stretching

  • Significant thinning of fabric

  • Large numbers of punctures

  • Persistent fraying

  • Areas that are nearly worn through

  • Material beginning to separate

  • Frequent need for repairs

Retire a product before the exterior fails enough to release internal components.

If You Cannot Determine Whether a Toy Is Safe

Do not use it.

If you are uncertain whether damage is merely cosmetic or affects the structural integrity of the product, the safest choice is to remove the toy.

You may contact Purrbobbin Co. with product-related questions, but we cannot inspect a product physically through the internet and cannot guarantee the safety of a used or damaged toy based solely on a customer description or photograph.

Disposing of Damaged Products

Dispose of damaged toys in a manner that prevents animals from retrieving them from the trash.

If a toy contains a loose bell or other component, secure that component so pets and children cannot access it.

Do not leave damaged products lying on the floor or in an open wastebasket where a pet may retrieve them.

Safety Information May Be Updated

Purrbobbin Co. may update safety instructions, product information, materials, construction methods, or this Product Safety & Use Disclaimer as products and business practices evolve.

Customers are encouraged to review current product instructions and safety information.

No Guarantee Against Injury or Ingestion

Reasonable product construction and responsible supervision reduce risk but cannot eliminate every possibility of injury, ingestion, damage, or unexpected animal behavior.

Purrbobbin Co. cannot guarantee that:

  • A pet will not damage a product

  • A pet will not attempt to ingest a product or component

  • A pet will use a product only as intended

  • An individual animal will respond predictably to a toy

  • A product will remain intact indefinitely

  • An owner will notice damage before an animal attempts to interact with an exposed component

This is why supervision and routine inspection are required.

Assumption of Responsibility

By allowing an animal to use a Purrbobbin Co. product, the purchaser, owner, or caregiver accepts responsibility for supervising the animal and determining whether the product remains suitable for continued use.

The owner or caregiver is responsible for removing a product when it becomes damaged or otherwise inappropriate for the animal.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Purrbobbin Co. is not responsible for injury, illness, veterinary expenses, property damage, ingestion of materials, or other losses resulting from:

  • Failure to supervise a pet appropriately

  • Continued use of a damaged product

  • Failure to inspect a toy

  • Failure to remove an unsafe toy

  • Destructive chewing or play

  • Use by an animal for whom the product is inappropriate

  • Ingestion of materials after a toy has been damaged

  • Customer alteration or modification

  • Use contrary to warnings or instructions

  • Use of the product for an unintended purpose

  • Other misuse of the product

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts, or limits any liability, warranty, consumer protection, or legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

This Disclaimer Does Not Replace Safe Product Construction

Purrbobbin Co. recognizes that safety warnings do not replace our responsibility to make reasonable efforts to construct our products appropriately.

We inspect our handmade products as part of our preparation and fulfillment process.

Customers should likewise inspect products when received and throughout their use.

Reporting a Product Concern

If you believe a Purrbobbin Co. product arrived with a construction issue or you discover a concern that you believe may relate to the product itself rather than ordinary pet wear, please contact us.

When possible, include:

  • Your order number

  • The product name

  • The approximate date purchased

  • A description of the concern

  • Clear photographs of the product

  • Close photographs of the affected area

  • Any other information that may help us understand the issue

Do not continue allowing your pet to use a product that you believe may be unsafe while waiting for a response.

Medical Concerns Take Priority Over Contacting Us

If an animal may have swallowed a component or is showing signs of injury or illness, address the animal's medical needs first.

Contact a veterinarian or emergency veterinary provider.

You may contact Purrbobbin Co. afterward regarding product or order information.

Do not delay veterinary evaluation while waiting for Purrbobbin Co. to answer an email.

Relationship to Other Purrbobbin Policies

This Product Safety & Use Disclaimer should be read together with Purrbobbin Co.'s:

Final Safety Reminder

SUPERVISE. INSPECT. REMOVE WHEN DAMAGED.

Purrbobbin Co. pet toys are made for play, but they are not indestructible.

Check toys before and during use.

If fabric tears, a seam opens, thread becomes loose, or stuffing, catnip, a bell, crinkle material, or any other internal component becomes exposed:

TAKE THE TOY AWAY IMMEDIATELY.

Do not allow a pet to continue playing with an opened or damaged toy.

If you know or suspect that your pet has swallowed part of a toy or another foreign object, contact a veterinarian or emergency veterinary provider promptly.
